There are many sensitive issues facing our world today. One which has been brought to my attention is the issue of discriminatory attitudes regarding colours of persons. The question of whether real men can wear pink is currently being addressed in a poll as well as the issue as to whether it is acceptable for male stuffed animals to wear pink. See: http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/CarpeBanana/709867/ This site is dedicated to the principle that colours should not be discriminated against and that all persons male and female alike should be allowed to choose what colours they wear. I have on occasion worn a faded fluorescent peach Adidas t-shirt, which could and has been mistaken for pink. If you hold to the view that men should not be allowed to wear pink, why not also hold the view that women should not be allowed to wear blue? It could be alleged that this would avoid confusion when little babies were dressed in pink or blue. Have you ever seen someone with a baby and wanted to comment and been tongue-tied lest you put your foot in your mouth by asking "Isn't he cute? What's his name?" And being told, "She. Not he. She. Can't you tell? My mother warned me not to go outside because there were all sorts of weirdos. I should have listened to her." But our forefathers in their wisdom valued the rights of "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness". Liberty means that parents have the freedom both to dress their children in the "wrong" colour of clothes and to give them names which don't always reveal their gender. And yes, Anya, it does not even rise to the level of child abuse to dress children in sewer green.
